When did I get old?

You know, you go through life handling the things as they come along. Then one day you look in the mirror and you have wrinkles. Not big Granny wrinkles (although I suspect they are coming) but the little ones around the eyes and on the forehead. And I noticed the other day that I have that frown droop around my mouth that I've noticed in old people. Now is that caused by time or from being overweight? I probably need to lose some weight and see if it goes away, huh?!

So I get the expensive tubes of old people wrinkle eliminator creams from my local make-up nazi -- I mean lady. I've been using them every day for the last 3-4 months (I'm old, remember? I have no idea how long it's been since I bought the stuff.) But I'm almost at the end of the bottle and I still have the wrinkles around my eyes. So is the stuff not working, or have I saved myself from even more wrinkles and lines? These are questions I feel should be answered.

I wasn't that worried about the grey hairs. When the oldest was in kindergarten I had lots of natural "highlights". Now, I'm going every couple of months and getting the highlights covered! I don't know which looks worse, the grey hair or the roots that are showing for a couple of inches along my scalp. I'll ask my Mom. She'll tell me the truth. Actually, now that I think about it, it probably doesn't look that bad or she would've mentioned it already. She loves to tell me "Put some lipstick on -- you look dead!" Nobody loves you like your mom, right?

Speaking of tents, (keep up or you'll get left behind) I need a new tent. The hubby took the old one camping this summer and while he had it the zipper broke. That makes it his fault, right? If I had been using it while when it broke, he'd say it was my fault. It didn't so much break as it became permanently stuck on the material surrounding it. And in his defense, it had been trying to do it for about a year or so. But, it's still his fault. So I'm trying to buy a new tent and this town is a camping equipment vacuum. The ones sold at the local mega-mart are pitiful. They are either only tall enough for a 6 year old to stand up in, or they're big enough for your entire extended family to go camping with you. I would love to go a Cabella's or Gander Mountain and do some shopping, but I just don't have the time right now. Maybe in a few weeks.

Oh well, that's pretty much all for now. Cya later!

Hello Fall!

I left the house this morning to a nice, cool breeze blowing. It's currently 70 degrees outside and I'm loving it! It's a bit chilly when the sun goes down, but that's what flannel jammies are for, right? Too bad we've got a Pack Meeting tonight. It'd be a great evening to sit on the patio!
